PITTSBURGH -- Another Power 5 school made a late push to try and steal one of the most important pieces from the Pitt Panthers' 2024 recruiting class but in the end, he stuck with his original commitment.

Four-star defensive tackle Francis Brewu was being courted by Michigan State for the past month, as they brought in a new head coach, but Brewu stayed true to Pitt and ended up signing with the Panthers when National Signing Day came around.

Brewu, rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals, took an official visit to East Lansing in mid-December to see what the new coaching staff had to offer, but Pitt was able to lock him down in the stretch run to Signing Day.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Brewu is ranked as high as the No. 11 player in the state and No. 20 defensive tackle in the class of 2024, per Rivals.

He held other offers from Minnesota, Cincinnati, Duke, Iowa State, Northwestern, Boston College, Miami, Michigan State, and Wisconsin. Ohio State showed interest but never offered.
