PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have been fortunate to contain Syracuse's star wide receiver, Oronde Gadsden the two times he's faced them during his productive career with the Orange, but that could change this coming season.

Gadsden announced this week on Twitter that he would be returning to Syracuse this season so he can terrorize ACC defenses, including Pitt's.

Gadsden is one of the biggest recruiting wins of the offseason for newly-minted Syracuse head coach Fran Brown, who also added former Ohio State starting quarterback Kyle McCord through the transfer portal.

As a breakout star in 2022, Gadsden caught 61 passes for 975 yards - both school records for a tight end - and six touchdowns while playing as a hybrid tight end and wide receiver.

After earning first-team All-ACC consideration in 2022, Gadsden was set to return as one of the league's best players, regardless of position, but a linsfranc injury kept him sidelined for all but two games of the 2023 campaign.

He'll be back in 2024 to face the Panthers before likely moving on and beginning a professional career that is surely in his future.
