PITTSBURGH -- Even after landing some talented pieces from the transfer portal, Pitt Panthers defensive line coach Charlie Partridge is still looking to add talent to his reloaded room.

The Panthers were one of 53 schools to reach out to UTSA standout defensive end Trey Moore, one of the most productive players at his position coming out of the transfer portal in this cycle.

Moore went from a two-star recruit during his high school recruitment to the 2023 American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. After redshirting and making one tackle during his true freshman season, Moore broke out in 2022, notching 59 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, eight sacks, six passes defended and a pair of forced fumbles over 14 games.

He followed that up with a 45-tackle, 17.5-TFL, 14-sack campaign in 2023 and added four passes defended and an interception.

Alabama, Ohio State, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, Washington, Tennessee, West Virginia, Penn State and Oklahoma make up just some of the parties interested in landing his commitment.

The Panthers added transfer defensive ends from Kansas State, Indiana and Clemson this past month but would be more than happy to add another starting-quality, if not superstar player at that position.
