Pitt Offers Former Howard OL, Western Pennsylvania Native
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are hoping to bring a local product back home to continue his college career in the Steel City.
Da'Metrius Weatherspoon, a hulking 6'7 and 335-pound offensive lineman from nearby Clarion, Pennsylvania and Clarion High School, announced on Twitter that he had picked up an offer from Pitt after entering the transfer portal an opting to leave Howard University this offseason.
Weatherspoon has only posted about his offer from Pitt, meaning they are likely his only offer to this point.
He has appeared in 13 games for the Bison over his three years with the program, 11 of which came this past season for a 6-6 Howard team that made it to the Celebration Bowl, also known as the Black National Championship game.
In 2023, Weatherspoon was named an HBCU All-American by HBCU Go after blocking for a Howard offense that averaged 367.5 total yards and 28.5 points per game.
