Pitt Lands Former NC State OL Transfer
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have added some depth, versatility and experience to their offensive line this offseason in the form of a transfer from inside the ACC.
Lyndon Cooper, a 6'5 and 315-pound swing offensive lineman from NC State announced on Twitter that he had picked Pitt as the next stop of his college football career.
Karl Ludwig of Pittsburgh Sports Now reported that Cooper had visited campus last weekend, which is likely when he gave his commitment to the Pitt coaching staff. Marshall, Georgia State, East Carolina, Louisville and USF had also reached out to extend offers.
Cooper was a projected starter at left guard going into the 2023 season for NC State but an injury sidelined him for the opener against UConn and he fell out of the rotation before returning to a starting role later in the season and eventually taking over as the starting center for a game. He played just 13 snaps over the final five games of the regular season.
Cooper posted a grade of 49.1, according to Pro Football Focus, which is the third lowest of any Wolfpack player with 100 or more snaps.
