The Pitt Panthers vs. West Virginia Mountaineers beef is heating up.

In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers welcome West Virginia back to the Steel City for the first time in 11 years. Kicking off the 2022 season at Acrisure Stadium, the Backyard Brawl is set to bring plenty of emotions - and has already brought out some distaste from both sides.

There's no hiding there's a real rivalry between Pitt and West Virginia. Even Pitt quarterback Kedon Slovis couldn't hold back when hyping up Panthers students at a pep rally for the game.

Now, a Mountaineers legend is doing his part to ramp up the rivalry.

Adam 'Pacman' Jones, a former cornerback for West Virginia who went on to spend 14 years in the NFL is making sure everyone knows how "bad" Pittsburgh is.

It started with a hype video released by West Virginia stating it's "our state versus your neighborhood."

Jones wasn't done there, though. Appearing on College Sports on Sirus XM, the former WVU star said there's nothing good in Mountaineers neighboring city.

"Have you ever been to Pittsburgh? That s**** terrible isn't it," Jones said. "The roads bumpy. It's always cold, drowsy. There's nothing good about Pittsburgh."

Jones spent three years at West Virginia and then eight years during his NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals. There are a lot of players who probably don't like the city of Pittsburgh, but Pacman is high on the list of all-time Pitt haters.

If the Panthers win, though, there won't be much to say.
