Report: Big 12 "In Deep Discussions" With Six Pac-12 Schools
PITTSBURGH -- A new round of conference realignment is on the horizon. The SEC and Big 10 made some high-profile additions. As Oklahoma, Texas, USC and UCLA prepare to switch conferences, the ACC, Pac-12 and Big 10 are searching for new members of their own that can help them counter the growing money and clout of the SEC.
The Big 12 has gotten a jump on its competitors throughout the rest of the Power Five. According to a report from Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports, the Big 12 is "in deep discussions" to add multiple Pac-12 schools. Four teams - Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State and Utah - are prime candidates and Oregon and Washington are being considered as well.
"Everything is on the table," one source told CBS Sports.
The Big 12 already introduced a round of incoming members in BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF who will make the move in July 2025.
The ACC, one of the Big 12's now direct competitors, is lagging behind in the fight to remain among the elites of college sports. They will likely look to Notre Dame and some of the Pac-12's North Division - Washington, Notre Dame and Stanford, namely - as potential new members.
