Kenny Pickett Has More Competition for Top QB in NFL Draft

The Pitt Panthers QB isn't the only being scouted by top picking teams.

PITTSBURGH -- Pitt Panthers star Kenny Pickett was once believed to be the solidified first quarterback taken in the 2022 NFL Draft. Now, he's gaining more competition for QBs selected in the top 10.

Pickett has met with the Carolina Panthers and is scheduled to meet with the Detroit Lions for pre-draft visits. Liberty quarterback Malik Willis is also meeting with both teams. The two QBs are favorites to be the first two taken this spring.

However, North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell is starting to make noise. The Tar Heels passer is visiting with the Panthers as well, and has impressed the team so far this offseason, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

While Howell might not jump into the top 10, it could leave the Panthers preparing to wait until the second round for a quarterback. Which would leave another team off the board for Pickett.
