PITTSBURGH -- The memory of a stunning and devastating defeat at the hands of Wake Forest is still fresh in the minds of the Pitt Panthers and their path back to the win column doesn't get any easier.

Pitt will travel to South Bend, Indiana to take on No. 14 Notre Dame this coming weekend and will do so as an 18.5-point underdog according to Betonline.ag.

The Panthers can be picked for +655 odds on the moneyline, according to Action Network, while Notre Dame sits at -1,064. The point total line has been set at 46.5.

Notre Dame is Pitt's fourth-most commonly played opponent in school history. The Fighting Irish own a 48-21 advantage in the all-time series but the recent history of these matchups has been full of close contests.

11 of the last 13 matchups between the Panthers and Irish have been decided by one score and two have gone to three overtimes or more.

Pitt hasn't won at Notre Dame Stadium since 2008 but each of their last six trips to face the Fighting Irish on the road have ended in a one-score game.
