Who's Left on Pitt Football's 2023 Recruiting Board?

The Panthers still have room to grow in their 2023 recruiting class.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers did the bulk of their recruiting for the class of 2023 in June. They hosted dozens of official visitors and landed 13 commitments over those thirty days. But there is still room for this class to grow and some of the players still on the board for would be big additions should they choose Pitt. 

The Panthers are in hot pursuit of two Florida wide receivers. Hykeem Williams, the blue-chip prospect that took a Pitt visit in late June, is being recruited by defensive line coach Charlie Partridge - an expert at recruiting in Florida - and newly minted wide receivers coach Tiquan Underwood. By the looks of it, Williams and his family enjoyed their trip to Pittsburgh, but the Panthers have stiff competition in Georgia, Texas A&M and Alabama to go through if they want to land Willaims.

Underwood and Partridge are also hot on the trail of Lamar Seymore, a three-star wideout out of powerhouse Miami Central High School. Seymore's recruitment took a sudden turn when he decommited from Miami at the end of June after taking visits to UCF And Pitt. Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Penn State and Oklahoma were some of the other schools involved. Seymore has said he plans to commit on July 11. 

On the defensive side of things, three-star defensive back Jaremiah Anglin Jr. took a visit in late June, but Pitt seems to be a reach. 247Sports has Florida State and Kentucky as front-runners for the No. 39 safety in his class. 

Pitt does appear to be in better standing with four-star corner Braedan Marshall from Lake Mary, Florida. The Panthers made his top 10 in early June and survived a cut down to the top five. Marshall will announce on July 30 whether he'll attend North Carolina, Wisconsin, Nebraska, UCF or Pitt. 

The 2023 defensive line class appears to be fully stocked with Antionio Caman and Isaiah Neal having already committed, but the Panthers would certainly find room if one of the four-star defensive linemen that made visits to Pitt want to join the class. They are long shots, but Desmond Umeozulu and Jalen Thompson are two of the best players at their position and in their respective states. Both are also well within the top 250 players in their class, according to 247Sports.
