PITTSBURGH -- The June recruiting storm is off to the races for the Pitt Panthers, who landed their first commitment in the class of 2024 on Saturday morning with more than a dozen official visitors in town. 

Head coach Pat Narduzzi posted the "Pat Signal" on Twitter at 10:42 am and at 3:36 pm, three-star defensive back Allen Bryant had confirmed that he was the first official visitor of the month to pick the Panthers. 

Bryant, rated as a three-star by 247Sports and On3, is ranked as high as the No. 50 player in the state of Florida and No. 36 cornerback in the class of 2024 (On3). 

The 6'2 and 175-pound defensive back from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida held offers from Florida Atlantic, FIU, Charlotte, Louisville, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Virginia, Memphis, Akron, UConn, Appalachian State, Temple and Jacksonville State. 

In his junior season at Calvary Christian Academy, Bryant compiled 44 tackles, four pass break-ups, a fumble recovery and an interception over 12 games.

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed.
