PITTSBURGH -- Another round of cuts to the offer sheet for four-star defensive back Aaron Scott brought bad news for the Pitt Panthers, who are now on the outside looking in.

The four-star defensive back from Springfield, Ohio included Pitt in his list of top 12 schools last month but has since cut it down even further to just five. The Panthers are now out as Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Michigan and Oregon remain in. USC, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Louisville, Florida State and Oklahoma were also cut.

Scott is a consensus four-star prospect. Both 247Sports and On3 consider him the best player in Ohio's class of 2024 while ESPN and Rivals both have him in the top four. On3 and 247 also have him pegged as a top-five cornerback prospect nationally. He visited Notre Dame, Georgia, Tennessee and Ohio State this winter.

"Aaron Scott prides himself on being a lockdown cover corner, and he 'loves it' when opponents attempt to throw his way," his On3 player bio reads. "They rarely did in 2022, but he still managed to pick off the ball five times and return those interceptions for 104 yards and two scores. He also had seven pass breakups and recovered a fumble as a junior. Scott would go on to earn all-area, all-region and all-state honors in 2022 and play a key role in helping Springfield (Ohio) High School play for a state title."
