PITTSBURGH -- Jeff Capel and the Pitt Panthers are using some of their downtime to stay on the recruiting trail and they've added one more target to their 2025 board in the process. 

The Panthers extended an offer to 2025 shooting guard Adrien Stevens, a 6'4 and 195-pound combo guard from Baltimore, Maryland who attends The Bullis School. 

Stevens is ranked as high as the No. 3 player in Maryland, No. 16 shooting guard (247Sports) and the No. 112 player overall in the class of 2025 (On3). Both 247Sports and On3 rate him as a three-star prospect. He holds other offers from Marquette, Butler, Xavier, St. Joesph's, George Mason, Rhode Island, Virginia Tech, Providence, Penn State, Towson, Loyola (MD), Maryland, Albany and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. 

Stevens has taken visits to Virginia Tech, Maryland and St. Joeseph's this summer.

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed. His work at The Pitt News has won awards from the Pennsylvania News Media Association and Associated College Press.  During the spring and summer of 2021, Stephen interned for Pittsburgh Sports Now, covering baseball in western Pennsylvania.
