PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are hoping they can keep another one of Pennsylvania's best prospects at home and they will know whether or not they have very soon. 

Mylachi Williams, a four-star defensive end from Monsignor Bonner High School in Philadelphia, is fresh off a visit to Pitt and is now ready to commit. He announced that he will make his final decision public on July 8. 

Williams is rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals and On3 and a three-star prospect by 247Sports. He is ranked as high as the No. 3 player in Pennsylvania, the No. 16 defensive end and the No. 205 overall prospect in the class of 2024 (On3). 

The 6'3 and 210-pound edge rusher also visited Penn State and Syracuse this month. He holds offers from the Nittany Lions, Panthers and Orange, alongside Notre Dame, Rutgers, West Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, USC, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Colorado, Virginia Tech, Duke, Cincinnati, Illinois, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Boston College, Missouri and others.

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed.
