PITTSBURGH -- It didn't take long for a recent Pitt Panthers decommit to find a new home.

Chasen Johnson, who decommitted from Pitt earlier this week, announced on Twitter that he would be joining UCF in the Knights' latest class.

Pitt and UCF have been engaged in some heated battles for 2024 recruits this week. The Panthers hosted a Knights commit, three-star linebacker D.J. McCormick, and a recent Knights decommit, four-star defensive lineman Sincere Edwards, this weekend for visits while Gus Malzahn and UCF went to work on Johnson.

Johnson, who made the switch from receiver to cornerback last season, picked Pitt over offense from South Carolina, West Virginia, UCF, Florida State, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Illinois, Indiana, Oregon State, Missouri and others. He had taken visits to see the Gamecocks and Knights, as well as Florida and Miami, earlier this year.

Rated by 247Sports and On3 as a three-star prospect, he's ranked as high as the No. 111 player in the state of Florida and the No. 65 cornerback in his class (247Sports).
