PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are off to a hot start in the month of June, having added five new commitments to their 2024 high school recruiting class.

With two of those five commits - three-star defensive backs Davion Pritchard and Allen Bryant - having revealed themselves and been officially added to the class, the Panthers have one of the stronger groups of 2024 recruits committed in the country.

Pitt is ranked as high as No. 16 nationally by Rivals in their latest national team rankings. The class is led by a pair of four-star recruits in wide receiver Ric'Darious Farmer and defensive lineman Jashear Whittington. Just three ACC teams - No. 9 Florida State, No. 10 Wake Forest and No. 15 North Carolina - are ranked ahead of them.

Farmer is the only four-star prospect in the class according to 247Sports, but Pitt is still ranked in the top 20 of their national rankings as well, checking in at No. 18. That is still good for fourth-best in the conference behind the same three programs.

On3 is the least optimistic about the Panthers' current class. They have ranked Pitt's group of one four-star, 11 three-stars and one unrated prospect as the No. 38 class in the country. Florida State, Clemson, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech all have higher-ranked classes per On3's metrics.
