South Carolina Dips Slightly In Baseball Rankings
It has been full steam ahead for most of the season for the South Carolina Gamecocks. The team has pulled off some impressive series wins this season, including a recent sweep against Florida, but the past few weeks haven't been too kind to the team.
In the past two weeks, the Gamecocks lost two out of three games against Auburn and were swept by Kentucky. This turn of events was unexpected for Mark Kingston's squad, considering how well they have faired against their SEC counterparts before this unfortunate stretch.
Though the past few weeks haven't been too kind for the Gamecocks, the team still stands at 36-11 and has been ranked #6 in this week's rankings. Dropping three spots in the rankings isn't ideal for the team, but they are still primed for a top seed and a premium path to Omaha.
The Gamecocks have a game against North Florida on Tuesday before beginning another big series for the team. South Carolina will face off against No. 3 Arkansas starting on Friday night. This series is an excellent opportunity for South Carolina to get back on track and reclaim their #3 ranking.
