Mark Kingston and the South Carolina Gamecocks just completed the main portion of their non-conference slate with just one loss to their name, something that very few other sports teams can claim. While their competition has yet to be created equal in terms of overall talent, it's become more and more unreasonable for pollsters to overlook how South Carolina has performed so far this season, both on the mound and at the plate.

Regarding pollsters, they're beginning to come around on the Gamecocks and their near-perfect start, as both D1baseball.com and Baseball America bumped the Gamecocks up four spots, ranking South Carolina #16 and #19, respectively.

It's the most significant move that the Gamecocks have made in both major polls to this point in the season. Compared to their SEC counterparts, the Gamecocks are ranked as the eighth-best team in the conference by both D1Baseball.com and Baseball America.

South Carolina will look to continue the seven-game winning streak they're currently riding when they take on both the Presbyterian Blue Hose and the Georgia Bulldogs over the coming days. The Blue Hose are carrying a losing record into their midweek matchup with the Gamecocks. At the same time, Georgia has yet to thoroughly sweep an opponent this season, a telltale sign that South Carolina could give the Bulldogs fits this coming weekend.
