Former Gamecock star GG Jackson captured the attention of NBA fans this weekend when he was sent down to the NBA G-league to play with the Memphis Hustle to get him more prepared for the highest level of basketball. Jackson was a well known prospect coming into the NBA this past offseason due to his No. 1 ranking coming out of high school and the potential he flashed as a volume shooter offensively at South Carolina, leading the Gamecocks in multiple categories and finished the year as an All-SEC player.

In his first three games with the Hustle an organization well-known for its development, we saw NBA twitter go crazy over GG Jackson's performances. Here are the numbers from his first few games with the Hustle:

G-League Debut

25 points on 53.3% shooting, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block

Second G-League Game

32 points on 52% shooting, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 3 blocks

Third G-League Game

21 Points on 47% shooting, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block

GG is averaging 26 points per game which makes him 13th in the G-League, and his scoring average per 48 minutes of play (an entire game) currently sits at 34.7 points, ranking 13th in the G-League. This has many fans excited about his future, especially fans of the Grizzlies, who could see Jackson become a full-time member of the active roster sooner rather than later.
