Joe Lunardi Keeps Gamecocks On 5-Seed Line After Loss To Auburn
Despite suffering another tough loss to the Auburn Tigers, South Carolina's men's basketball team barely were punished by ESPN's renowned bracketologist.
With Selection Sunday just two days away, the South Carolina Gamecocks were hoping to go on a run in the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament, which would've opened a window of opportunity to potentially move up to the 4-seed line. However, that opportunity was dashed on Friday afternoon after Lamont Paris and the Gamecocks were run out of Bridgestone Arena by the Auburn Tigers.
So where does this leave Carolina as far as their seeding in the NCAA Tournament is concerned? Well according to ESPN's Joe Lunardi, the loss won't impact the Gamecocks to a significant degree, as to this point in the evening, Lunardi has only dropped them one spot overall. To top that off, Joe doesn't believe there'll be much more movement throughout the rest of the weekend.
"South Carolina will be a 5/6 seed on Sunday."
