BREAKING: Lamont Paris To Receive Raise & Extension From South Carolina
South Carolina's men's basketball program has soared to new heights this season, and the leader of the program is now being rewarded for it.
South Carolina men's basketball fans have been wondering for weeks now when head coach Lamont Paris would receive his well-deserved new contract after leading the Gamecocks to historic heights in his second season at the helm. On Thursday morning, they finally got their answer, as ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that Lamont Paris is expected to receive a contract extension and raise (pending board approval tomorrow morning), that would see the Ohio native extended through the 2029-30 season and earn more than $4 million annually.
Paris helped the program break the school record for regular season wins (25) this past Saturday against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. In the past several days, his coaching peers and the Associated Press have named him the SEC Coach of the Year. He's also in the running for the Naismith National Coach of the Year Award.
