How To Watch: South Carolina vs. Florida
Dawn Staley and South Carolina's Women's Basketball team are fresh off of an evisceration of the formerly undefeated LSU Tigers from this past Sunday and look to keep things business as usual when they take on a middling Florida Gators squad this evening. The Gators have taken a step back this season due to their struggles on the road, losing six of their nine contests away from Gainesville by an average of 21.5 points.
One thing Florida has going for them is their experience in their starting lineup, with four of their starting five players being seniors and the sole exception being junior center Ra Shaya Kyle. Offensively, Florida likes to get down the court quickly, ranking 38th in the country in possessions per 40 minutes with 74.7, but the Gators' live-and-die mentality in terms of their pace has also led to them averaging a whopping 17.4 turnovers per game.
Florida also carries this aggressive mentality to the defensive end of the court, as they average 7.8 steals per game and are 23-0 under Kelly Rae Finley when holding opponents to 60 points or less. Aliyah Boston and the Gamecocks will need to prioritize playing under control and speeding things up in select moments to avoid this game becoming a daunting rock fight contest with the Florida Gators.
