The 2017 Gamecock connection is back but in a philanthropic fashion. Best friends and former teammates TeMarcus Blanton and Chris Silva of the College Park Skyhawks gave South Cobb students in Atlanta, GA, the experience of a lifetime.

"Chris played a vital role in communication, making this dream come true. The kids were so appreciative towards Chris", said Blanton

Blanton shared with GamecockDigest his journey from playing at South Carolina to now being an assistant coach of the South Cobb Eagles. After Blanton's playing and coaching career at South Carolina, he transitioned into coaching high school basketball in his hometown of Locust Grove.

"South Cobb gave me a call, and it has been one of the best decisions of my life," TeMarcus said. "It means the world to be able to lead a group of young adults into maturity. A lot of kids don't have that support or guidance, and it's powerful to be that person to lead those onto the right path," he exclaimed.

Blanton & Silva's Friendship

In life, some of our most cherished relationships come from our college chapter in life, and it's no different for Silva and Blanton. Even after their time together in college, the two text and call each other often.

"Chris is a great brother, and I wouldn't trade our friendship for anything," said Blanton.

If that doesn't warm your heart, ladies and gentlemen, I don't know what will. Two men lending a helping hand and or an open ear along the journey of life is worth more than gold, especially in the current days of our lives.
