Head coach Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks have gone the entire regular season without a loss for the second consecutive year, securing that achievement by defeating the Tennessee Lady Volunteers on Sunday afternoon. Going undefeated in the regular season is almost unheard of in present-day women's college hoops; doing so in back-to-back seasons shows the new heights the Gamecocks have reached under Staley. We dived into the stats to see how this year's and last year's teams stack up against one another:

Both teams are similar in almost every aspect and have had the same success under Dawn. It's wild to think that the last time South Carolina lost a regular-season game was December 30th, 2021, which was 797 days ago. The only thing left before we can look at the entire body of work for these two legendary squads is the postseason, where the 2022-23 team fell just two wins shy of claiming the program's third national championship last Spring.
