REPORT: Gamecocks Offer Wide Receiver From Big 10 Program
In light of all of the recent news as far as South Carolina's receiver position and the transfer portal are concerned, Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks are in desperate need of depth. The program has already sent out an offer to North Texas' Ja'Mori Maclin, and is reportedly interested in Florida International's Kris Mitchell.
On Friday evening, it was reported by On3Sports Transfer Portal reporter Pete Nakos that Purdue wide receiver Abdur-Rahmaan Yaseen has now received an offer from the staff. Yaseen was a part of the 2020 recruiting cycle and has spent each of the past four seasons in West Lafayette. While he didn't make much of an impact in his first three years, the redshirt junior saw the light come on this past fall, racking up 25 catches for 329 yards in just six games of action.
Abdur would bring Power 4 experience to the program at arguably it's biggest position of need, and would likely fight for a starting spot if he were to wind up in Columbia.
