BREAKING: UNC Playmaking WR Tez Walker Won't Play On Saturday
Over the past decade, the public perception of the NCAA has slowly but surely withered away, and as time continues to pass, their lack of willingness to get with the times continues to make people question their role in intercollegiate athletics. On Friday evening, their those questions are sure to grow even louder up in Chapel Hill, as North Carolina released a statement saying that Devontez Walker, the projected No. 1 receiving target for Drake Maye this Fall, won't be playing against South Carolina on Saturday night.
The issue stems from the fact that Walker has transferred to several schools during his college career, and a debate over old new transfer rules being applied to past events. Walker's absence is a huge loss for the Tar Heels, and for South Carolina, will lessen the challenge they have in the form of Drake Maye and this North Carolina receiving core. You never want to see a college athlete's emotions put on the backburner by people making decisions thousands of miles away, but when it comes to the NCAA, it unfortunately seems to be a frequent occurance in 2023.
