BREAKING: UAB Transfer Drew Tuazama Commits to South Carolina /

South Carolina's Football team got better today with the addition of UAB EDGE transfer Drew Tuazama, a 6-foot-5, 275-pound end from Raleigh, NC. Last year for the Blazers, the then-Syracuse transfer played in all thirteen games and recorded a team-high five sacks and 33 total tackles, three pass breakups, and three quarterback hurries. Drew helped UAB's defense lead Conference USA in scoring defense, passing defense, and defensive effectiveness and was personally named an Honorable Mention All-Conference USA selection at season's end.

As a grad transfer, Drew has had some big names come after him, with Colorado and Deion Sanders trying to jump in to get his talents in Boulder, but it's been all Gamecocks ever since he entered the portal. South Carolina closes on one of the best grad transfers available at a position with multiple question marks this offseason, outside of senior EDGE rusher Jordan Strachan, who led the nation in sacks just two years ago.

Drew Tuazama is the second portal addition at the edge position for South Carolina this offseason, joining Syracuse transfer Jatius Geer. Gamecock fans will get their first look at Drew on September 2nd when the Gamecocks play UNC in Charlotte, with College Gameday covering the game.
