ICYMI: Marcus Lattimore Announced As South Carolina Athletic HOF Inductee
When South Carolina Football fans look back on the glory years that took place between 2010 and 2013 in the Steve Spurrier era in Columbia, multiple players are synonymous with this memorable run. One of them is former Gamecock running back Marcus Lattimore who, at his peak, was one of the best players in all of college football.
The Palmetto State native rushed for 2,677 yards in his three years in Columbia, slotting him fifth on South Carolina's all-time rushing list, and scored 38 touchdowns on the ground, which ranks first all-time in school history. Fans will never know what Lattimore could've accomplished if those devastating knee injuries ever took place, but the South Carolina Athletic Hall Of Fame's nomination committee conveyed on Monday that they didn't need to know, as they announced that Marcus will be inducted as a part of their 2024 class this coming May.
Lattimore joins nine other inductees, comprising the largest induction class since the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame began back in 1960.
