Most of the media around the SEC are viewing the Eastern division as they have for the past several years: it's Georgia and everybody else. This year that proves to be the prevailing thought once again, as the SEC released the projected order of finish and their three All-SEC teams.

For South Carolina, the SEC Media in Nashville projected them to finish 3rd in the SEC East, and the Gamecocks also earned three first-place votes.

When looking at the All-SEC teams, South Carolina accumulated six in total:

P Kai Kroeger: First-team All-SEC

K Mitch Jeter: First-team All-SEC (KOS) and Third-team All-SEC (KS)

WR Antwane "Juice" Wells: Second-team All-SEC

TE Trey Knox: Third-team All-SEC

DT Tonka Hemingway: Third-team All-SEC

When looking at the Gamecocks roster, there are two notable absences from this list: defensive backs Marcellas Dial and Nick Emmanwori. Emmanwori is by far the most glaring omission from this list, as in terms of defensive backs, he finished last season ranked second in the SEC in total tackles with 85. Nick also finished 2022 with five freshman All-American nods from multiple news outlets.

It's also noteworthy that Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton tied for a place on the Third-team All-SEC list alongside Mississippi State gunslinger Will Rogers, while Spencer Rattler, who's more accomplished and proven compared to Milton, didn't make any list.
