Shane Beamer Provides Injury Update For Furman Week
Injuries are an inherent part of sports, especially football, and South Carolina found that out the hard way in week one against North Carolina, as several key starters left the game and did not return. On Sunday evening, Shane Beamer talked with the media on his weekly teleconference call about the health status of multiple players for the Gamecocks' week two matchup against Furman. Here's who he mentioned and their subsequent status:
Nick Emmanwori: Questionable
Juice Wells: Questionable
Markee Anderson: Questionable
Ahmarean Brown: Probable
Cason Henry: OUT
Mohamed Kaba: OUT and out of respect for Kaba, he will let Kaba announce the prognosis himself
For South Carolina, even though they're playing Furman in week two, having this many starters dinged up and coming off a deflating loss against North Carolina could be a bad recipe for Shane Beamer's squad if they can't find a way to mentally bounce back this week. We'll learn more on Tuesday when Shane Beamer talks to the media again at his weekly press conference.
