How To Watch: South Carolina vs Furman
The Shane Beamer-led South Carolina Gamecocks are looking to bounce back in week two after dropping their season opener to the North Carolina Tar Heels in a game in which Carolina looked overmatched physically on both sides of the ball. One would typically say that a matchup against an FCS program the following weekend would be just what the doctor ordered, but the Furman Paladins are no slouches, coming into the contest as the No. 6 ranked FCS team in the country.
The unit that will garner the most attention this weekend will be the offensive line unit, which gave up nine sacks to a Tar Heel pass rush that recorded just seventeen sacks in fourteen games one season ago. The Gamecocks particularly struggled on the edge of the line, which made life difficult for star quarterback Spencer Rattler, who sometimes didn't have but three seconds to decide whether to get rid of the football or scramble. South Carolina's defense will also look to make some improvements this weekend, as they only recorded one negative play against the Tar Heels last weekend.
