There's not much good coming out of last weekend's game, a heartbreaking loss against the Florida Gators. While some individual players had a good game, those performances are overlooked because of the outcome. Guys Like Tonka Hemingway and Jalon Kilgore had rather exceptional games. However, more often than not, two or three players can't win you games.

Several players, from time to time, certain players looked as if they were almost playing lost or out of position.

The biggest thing, however, is still seeing, six games into the season, the poor tackling and the lack of unzipping their feet and securing those tackles. This happened several times, including on the final two drives of the game, that allowed Florida to take the lead. It wasn't the case of them being given a bad play call or being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The young men just struggled to make the big plays when needed.

Lastly, to carry the conversation of the big play, the defense did improve on being a better football team on 3rd downs. The Gators didn't convert a single third-down attempt in the second half. Unfortunately, the Gamecocks couldn't get off the field on 4th down, which loomed large late in the second half of the game.

While the outcome was one the Gamecocks want to forget, they can and need to learn from it. As they travel to face off against the Missouri Tigers, they need to be more disciplined in their attack and scheme. For the Gamecocks to come away with an upset, they'll need the defense to step up in significant ways.
