Dylan Stewart Shines In Under Armor All-American Game
In an impressive display of talent and athleticism, Dylan Stewart, the five-star edge rusher signee for the South Carolina Gamecocks, turned heads at the Under Armour All-America Game on Wednesday. While his team, Team Fire, may not have burned as brightly as they hoped on the scoreboard, Stewart's performance on the defensive line was a beacon of light.
Stewart, consistently ranked among the nation's elite defensive linemen, lived up to his billing under the bright lights and on the big stage. His explosive first step and ability to bend around the edge were on full display as he consistently wreaked havoc in the backfield. The young lineman's speed was a highlight, as he was often seen outpacing his offensive counterparts, pushing them on their heels.
More than just a speed rusher, Stewart showcased a high football IQ and situational awareness that set him apart from his peers. Throughout the game, he was a persistent force, not only creating pressure and forcing quarterbacks to scramble but also demonstrating his ability to read plays correctly. On multiple occasions, Stewart used his keen sense of timing to get his hands up and bat down passes, disrupting the offensive flow and showcasing his versatility.
One of Stewart's big moments came towards the end of the first half when he registered his lone sack of the day against Jordan Seaton, the top-ranked offensive tackle in the class. Stewart's relentless pursuit and agile maneuvering were on full display as he navigated past Seaton—who appeared to be holding Stewart—to take down the quarterback.
As Stewart transitions to college football, his showing at the Under Armour All-America Game is a promising glimpse of what's to come. If he continues to develop his raw talent and harness his impressive physical tools, there's no doubt that Dylan Stewart will be a name to watch in the SEC and beyond.
