After 'eeking out a victory over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks yesterday afternoon, Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks will look to carry over that momentum into their week eleven matchup against the Vanderbilt Commodores. It'll be another early afternoon game that should elicit a bigger crowd now that Carolina has secured their first win in over a month.

Despite the fact Beamer's squad is facing a team that should have more on-paper talent compared to their previous opponent, the opening spread for the game is similar to what we saw a week ago. Here's the opening spread courtesy of some major sportsbooks:

Circa Sports: Gamecocks favored by 13 points

FanDuel: Gamecocks favored by 14 points

Draft Kings: Gamecocks favored by 14 points

The Commodores find themselves in a near identical situation as South Carolina, as they've only won two games to this point in the season, and are eliminated for bowl consideration based on their record. South Carolina has gone through their struggles in the 2023 season, but have done quite well against Vanderbilt in recent memory, winning each of the last fourteen matchups between both programs, and having not lost in Columbia since 2007.
