BREAKING: Palmetto Bowl To Take Place Under The Lights
The South Carolina Gamecocks had gotten used to playing under the lights throughout 2022 and the first half of the 2023 season thanks in large part to the progress head coach Shane Beamer and his staff had made in Columbia. In recent weeks, however, that hasn't been the case largely due to the Gamecocks disappointing on-field performance.
After escaping against Jacksonville State and taking care of business against Vanderbilt over the past two weeks, it appears that TV networks are coming back around on South Carolina, who will be playing the Kentucky Wildcats at night this coming Saturday, along with their archrivals in the Clemson Tigers in week thirteen.
This could shape up to be a Palmetto Bowl with massive implications riding on it for both teams. For Carolina, they'll hope to remain in the fight for bowl-eligibility as long as they take care of business against the Kentucky Wildcats this weekend. Clemson, on the other hand, will look to avoid losing back-to-back games against the state's flagship university for the first time since 2012-13, the two seasons that back-ended the Gamecocks five-year winning streak.
