ICYMI: Booker Pickett Jr. Includes Gamecocks In Top 5
This past Tuesday was a big day for multiple reasons; South Carolina landed five-star edge rusher Dylan Stewart, and 2024 targets got their official offers from the Gamecocks and other schools who are pursuing them. The aforementioned mass deliverance of offers led to a notable post from 2024 four-star edge rusher Booker Pickett Jr., who only posted one of the official offers that he had received, and the one he posted was the one he received from South Carolina.
Could this have been a message to the Gamecocks due to Booker potentially knowing of Stewart's eventual commitment, or did the Florida native just pick one of likely many offers out and post it just for laughs and giggles? Try to psycho-analyze posts like this, and you'll wind up convincing yourself of every conceivable explanation you can conjure up.
It's clear, however, that there's a certain level of mutual interest between the Gamecocks and Booker, and this was displayed through Pickett's Top 5 he released on Friday, which included South Carolina.
The competition for Booker seems to be quite stiff, as the rest of his Top 5 group comprises of Georgia, Ohio State, Miami and Florida State, all schools that South Carolina has now gone head-to-head with countless times on the recruiting trail.
