Four-star defensive end Dominic Nichols has released his top eight schools, including the South Carolina Gamecocks on his list.

When looking at how well a program is recruiting the talent surrounding them, it is best to look at the recruits they are pursuing and see how they are reacting to the programs. We have continuously seen recruits take visits and build relationships with the Gamecocks and its coaching staff, culminating in South Carolina consistently finishing as finalists for top recruits.

South Carolina made the top eight for another top defender in the class of 2024 Thursday morning. Four-star defensive end Dominic Nichols included South Carolina in his final eight schools. 

The 6-5 lineman from Ijamsville, Maryland, is one of the higher-ranked players from the state of Maryland, ranking 11th in the state of Maryland and 25th amongst all edge rushers. Nichols, who received his offer from South Carolina back in January, is celebrated predominantly for his versatile play-ability.

Though South Carolina made his narrowed list, the team still has strides to make with the recruit. Nichols has official visits set for Michigan and Kentucky later this month and already had an OV with Wisconsin. Considering the team is still looking for defensive line talent in his class.
