INTERVIEW: 2026 Guard Isaac Ellis Talks Playing With Older Brother Eli
Often times, being the younger brother is not easy, being held up to the standard of your older brother, but Isaac Elis, Eli Ellis' younger brother, dawns a grinder mentality of working hard.
"Personally, I just have to keep getting better, and hopefully, I'll get to that level," said Ellis. "I'm really just here to facilitate; I'm more of a point guard, so just try to find him in his spots and score when the ball comes to me," he added.
Despite the quote, Isaac is no slouch on the hardwood. He has scored 20 points twice this month in the Overtime Elite League. In both games, Ellis shot 44% or better from three, with a minimum of four made three-pointer in both contests.
In the post-game interview Friday, Isaac was asked how he was handling being Eli's younger brother, and he stated,
"Last year, whenever Eli went to OTE, it was just me at Moravian Prep, so that was my time to step up and show everyone, prove to myself, that I'm my own player. For example, there will be some games where I have 20 in the first half, and Eli has 2, and [then] Eli has 35 in the next half, and I won't even shoot in the second half; so I feel like we have a good balance of if someone is scoring, we just let them go."
Currently, Ellis holds no offers and hasn't heard any word of being offered by the Gamecocks, but Isaac has stated he has a good relationship with head coach Lamont Paris.
