Jontae Gilbert Talks Schools Of Interest, Updates Recruitment
Since Jontae Gilbert (Atlanta, GA) decided to decommit from Ohio State this past July, there has been some chatter about which programs the play-making safety has on his desired list. Gamecocks news first: Gilbert told Gamecocks Digest that South Carolina is one of the teams he is still interested in. Stanley Pritchett, a former Gamecock fullback (1992-1995), is Gilbert's head coach at Fredrick Douglas High School.
Gamecock Fun Fact
Pritchett is one of two running backs in Gamecock history to finish his career with 1,000 yards rushing and receiving.
Ohio State
Even though Gilbert pulled the plug on the Buckeyes, it sounds like he is not completely out and is still in contact with Coach Tim Walton.
"Coach Walton and I talk every week, and I'm still considering it, but right now, I'm really just falling back and want to enjoy the process," said Gilbert.
Colorado
The Buffs offered Gilbert this past June, and the new look program to this point looks exciting, so we had to get his opinion on the Pac-12 team.
"I really could see myself there making a big impact on their defense as a freshman." Gilbert will be in Boulder, Colorado on November 4th for the Oregon St. game.
Update
Coming up in the near future, Jontae will reveal his top 10 on his birthday; therefore, stay tuned to his Twitter (@J7ontae) as well as GamecocksDigest.
