2025 Four-star Jontae Gilbert Gets A Visit From Shane Beamer & Clayton White
With football activities slowing down, college coaches everywhere are traveling across the country trying to form or maintain relationships with prospective targets from the two upcoming recruiting classes. That's been no different for head coach Shane Beamer and defensive coordinator Clayton White, who stopped by Fredrick Douglass High School on Tuesday morning to check in on 2025 four-star defensive back Jontae Gilbert.
By no means was this just a regular visit for Coach Beamer and Coach White; they had the opportunity to meet Gilbert's Mother and Aunt for the first time. From what Jontae told me afterward, the visit was a good one.
"Everything went great. [My] mom and aunt were here as well, and that was their first time meeting [Beamer]; it was great", said Gilbert.
Gamecocks fans, when I say Gilbert is a one-of-one, I can't make it any plainer. The young man exemplifies high character, and without a doubt in my mind, I know he'll impact this world more so off the field than on it. Tune into our sit-down "Tell Your Story" interview and hear it from Jontae himself.
