Wednesday has been kind to Shane Beamer and South Carolina's Football program, with the staff having received commitments from offensive tackle Mike Williams and in-state prospect Kelvin Hunter. Now, the Gamecocks have secured a massive pick-up in four-star defensive back Braydon Lee from Upper Marlboro, MD. The 6'1 Baltimore native picked the Gamecocks over offers from schools like Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, Maryland, and more.

Lee's commitment to the Gamecocks is a significant boost to the team's defense, which is looking to reload at the cornerback position after losing Cam Smith and Darius Rush both to the NFL. Historically, this position group has been one of the best at South Carolina, and has produced NFL players at a very high rate over the past 11 years or so.

With his speed, agility, and natural talent, Lee has the potential to be a game-changer on the field for the Gamecocks in the coming years. For South Carolina fans, this is another win over Maryland, a new recruiting rival for the Gamecocks due to their battles in recruiting the DMV area, consisting of Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

South Carolina has landed four players just at Lee’s school in edge defender Desmond Umeozulu, tight end Maurice Brown II, offensive tackle Mike Williams, and now Lee. There's no doubt South Carolina will continue to prioritize the DMV pipeline it has created, especially the one they've formed at the Charles Herbert Flowers school in Baltimore.
