South Carolina Offers Transfer Offensive Lineman Jaden Muskrat
Coming out of the Garnet and Black Spring game, the South Carolina Gamecocks were like many typical college football program where there were some mixed results on both sides of the ball, something that's good in a sense because it means the team hasn't peaked and the coaching staff can nit-pick certain areas for desired improvement. In the case of the offensive line, however, this past Saturday night could've gone a lot better.
There were 10 sacks given up in pass protection, little room given to South Carolina's running backs in the ground game, and worst of all, left tackle Jaylen Nichols went down with a lower body injury that required the trainers to assist him off the field, and no update has been given since then. Whether it's the Nichols injury or the performance from the past couple of scrimmages, Shane Beamer and his staff feel like offensive line is an immediate position of need, and conveyed this by offering transfer offensive lineman Jaden Muskrat from Tulsa on Tuesday night.
The Gamecocks will have some stiff competition here, as other notable programs like Auburn, Arkansas, Penn State, Cincinnati, amongst others. Jaden Muskrat spent three years at Tulsa, and started 12 of the Golden Hurricanes 13 games this past Fall at right tackle.
