BREAKING: Former South Carolina Target Jalewis Solomon Decommits From Auburn
You never know what can happen when it comes to high school football recruitments, especially in this new era of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). For Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks, they were on the short end of the stick back on August 5th, when defensive back prospect Jalewis Solomon surprised everyone by committing to the Auburn Tigers in a ceremony that was delayed multiple times the day of his decision.
Since then, the Gamecocks haven't really put themselves in the mix for any other defensive back prospects from the 2024 class, except for recent in-state offer Quay'sheed Scott. Carolina, however, just might have a chance to circle back around and make another run at Solomon, as the Georgia native announced on Tuesday evening that he was decommitting from Auburn.
Considering the fact that the Gamecocks were the favorites leading into Solomon's original commitment date, it shouldn't shock anyone if South Carolina winds up being a major factor in Jalewis' recruitment once again.
