Stanford's Drew Bowser drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 2023 MLB Draft

To round out the 2023 MLB Draft, Stanford infielder Drew Bowser was drafted in the 20th round with pick No. 596.
Bowser was the ninth player Stanford player drafted, and the second taken by a team in Chicago joining Eddie Park who was taken by the White Sox.

Bowser hit .270 with 14 homers while driving in 48 runs for Stanford this season. He started 61 games, and earned Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention.
Stanford would love to add Bowser's bat back to the lineup next season to provide a veteran presence. Especially when you consider that they are likely losing Tommy Troy, Alberto Rios to the MLB, and Braden Montgomery to the transfer portal.
