Former West Virginia Mountaineers C James Okwonko To Visit Aggies
The Texas A&M men's basketball program under coach Buzz Williams is rolling along this offseason. With talent at every position and four out of five starters returning next season, A&M is on pace for a second-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
There may be a new face wearing maroon and white for the Aggies' 2023 run as former West Virginia center James Okonkwo will be paying a visit to College Station ahead of the upcoming season.
Okonkwo will also be visiting Chappel Hill and the University of North Carolina while he decides on his immediate basketball future. He was a four-star prospect in 2021, and will be the eighth former Mountaineer to transfer since the resignation of former coach Bob Huggins.
Offense isn't Okonkwo's strength, as he averaged just 2.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11 minutes per game, but he led the team with 22 blocks.
The Aggies finished last season with an impressive 25-10 overall record while finishing at 15-3 in SEC play, and the floor general, Wade Taylor IV returns to lead A&M hoops once again.
