Aggies Notebook: Texas A&M Dominates Abilene Christian Wildcats in 2nd Half for 38-10 Win
The Aggies were back in action for the first time since the firing of Jimbo Fisher almost a week ago. Matching up against Abilene Christian was the task for interim head coach Elijah Robinson, and he had his Aggies ready to play.
The Aggies got off to a questionable start but dominated the second half to get Robinson his first "W" as the Aggies interim coach. Let's take a look at some of the notable things about Texas A&M's 38-10 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday at Kyle Field.
SLOW START
It was somewhat of a slow start for A&M, who went down early on a pick-6 thrown by quarterback Jaylen Henderson on the Aggies' second play from scrimmage. Henderson was under pressure all day as the offensive line routinely broke down in front of him. The Aggies' first five drives of the game resulted in a pick-6, a touchdown, and three punts. The touchdown drive was the only series to last longer than 2:04 at 2:44.
RETURN OF LE'VEON MOSS?
Aggies' star running back went down late in the third quarter of the game against Ole Miss after taking a helmet to the knee and missed all of last week's 51-10 win over Mississippi State. Moss attempted a return against Abilene Christian, but it lasted just one play.
Moss carried for no gain on a 1st and 10 late in the first quarter, then was seen limping off the field shaking his head negatively. He did not return. With the season nearing an end we wonder if Texas A&M will even bother attempting to bring him back against LSU and risking further injury if he's not completely healthy.
BONFIRE COLLAPSE ANNIVERSARY
Saturday's game marked the 24th anniversary of the bonfire collapse on Nov. 18, 1999, at 2:42 a.m. Texas A&M paid tribute to the 12 killed and 27 injured with a ribbon around the Texas A&M logo at midfield.
