Halftime Report: @ Missouri
It's been a very interesting first half in Columbia, Missouri. The Tigers have been on the field much more than the Vols, but it's still a one-score football game. The Vols have looked good on offense when they've been out there - they just haven't been out there a ton.
We said before the game that Tennessee's defense vs. Missouri's offense would be the matchup that decided the game. So far, that's proved true, as Missouri has dominated the time of possession battle. There's no reason to panic for Tennessee; they open the second half with the football and have moved on all their drives, minus the opener.
Both quarterbacks have played good football. Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III only had one incompletion in the first half and has made several critical third-down throws. Meanwhile, Missouri quarterback Brady Cook responded to an early interception and has kept the Tigers ahead of the sticks.
The star of the afternoon has been Missouri running back Cody Schraeder, the SEC's leading rusher entering play. He's already amassed 198 all-purpose yards in the first half of action, the difference in the scoreboard right now. Tennessee must respond out of halftime to apply pressure to this Tiger's offense, and it's shaping up to be a good one in Columbia.
