Halftime Report: Tennessee vs. Florida
Entering play, some expected Tennessee to have difficulties against the Florida Gators. They haven't won in The Swamp since 2003, and before last year, they hadn't beaten Florida since 2016. However, even those pundits may be surprised with how things have gone in the first half.
Florida came out with a very strong game plan. They played ground control in the first half, keeping the ball out of the Vols' hands and milking the clock. Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III looked sharp on the first drive, but the offense hasn't gotten anything going since. Milton had a bad interception in the first half that set them back, and it hasn't helped that they haven't had the ball much at all.
There are some silver linings heading into the second half. Tennessee has played as bad of a half as they have all season and has a chance to make a statement to start the second half. They get the opening kickoff, and that drive will be essential to set the tone for the next thirty minutes of game time. The offense has to build an efficient two-way attack to score points like they have all season. The defense hasn't been great, but we are at halftime looking at the offense to make a play.
