Joe Milton III Goes Viral With Huge Throw

Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Joe Milton III has had a good week and continued at a recent outing at the Clarkson Quarterback Retreat.
In this story:

Joe Milton has had a big week, to say the least. Just a few days ago, he appeared on Good Morning Football on NFL Network and was even seen in their offices whizzing a laser past his unsuspecting throwing partner. Milton’s biggest headlines, though, came on Saturday when a video surfaced of him throwing a ball over 80 yards down the field. This is not something you see every day at any level of football, and although it’s just him throwing without pads with no defense, the prospect of Milton throwing deep balls to Tennessee’s receiver is the reason for excitement.

Milton has some big shoes to fill this season after the departure of VFL quarterback Hendon Hooker. All eyes will be on the redshirt senior, with true freshman Nico Iamaleava ready and waiting if Milton cannot assume the responsibility. Tennessee fans have high expectations for the season, and quarterback play will be a huge part of what the Vols can accomplish. Now, an 85-yard pass in May certainly will not be a true indicator of the quarterback play in 2023 from Joe Milton, but it shows a glimpse into the ceiling of what he is capable of. Milton has been very patient both at Michigan and at Tennessee, and now Tennessee fans will need to be patient as the days of waiting to see him take the field in September are slowly but surely ticking down.
