Tennessee NFL Combine Preview

The real fun of the NFL Scouting Combine will get underway Thursday from Indianapolis, with seven Tennessee participants.
In this story:

All seven of Tenneessee’s invites to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine will be in Indianapolis to participate in the event. Wide receivers Jalin Hyatt and Cedric Tillman, offensive tackle Darnell Wright, quarterback Hendon Hooker, edge Byron Young, linebacker Jeremy Banks, and punter Paxton Brooks will all be in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium in efforts to impress NFL scouts and organizations.

There are a few Vols in contention to see their names read in the first round come April, including Jalin Hyatt. Hyatt is expected to make big headlines at the combine with his blazing speed.

Hendon Hooker will not be able to participate physically due to his ACL tear last year, but he will be a part of the all-important interviewing process. Hooker already has teams interested in him and will look to impress even more in the coming days. Even being at the NFL Scouting Combine is a true dream for the quarterback.

Over the years, combine performances have greatly impacted players’ draft outlook both positively and negatively. There is a lot of pressure on these guys as their draft position can impact not only their career path but also the value of their first contract. It isn’t the end-all-be-all, but this week is a huge deal in the draft process.

The television coverage of the combine kicks off at 3:00 p.m. on NFL Network on Thursday.
